Rush Limbaugh: Sen. McConnell Calling Dems' Bluff With Green New Deal Vote

Others are (tepidly) admiring the Republican leader's strategy.
Sen. Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii) criticized Republicans on Tuesday for pledging to hold what is essentially a show vote on the Green New Deal, given that they have not advanced any serious efforts to address climate change.
The plan, initially championed by freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, calls for a New Deal-style mobilization to shift the U.S. economy away from fossil fuels such as oil and coal and replace them with renewable sources such as wind and solar power. According to a GOP strategist that spoke with Axios, Republicans will emphasize the Green New Deal among "middle, lower classes and poverty stricken areas of America", broad constituencies crucial to either party's 2020 hopes. The plan calls for a New Deal-style mobilization to shift the USA economy away from fossil fuels such as oil and coal and replace them with renewable sources such as wind and solar power.
"What is their answer on climate change?"
"Don't let Mitch McConnell fool you: this is nothing but an attempt to sabotage the movement we are building".
They knew early. & Their goal has been to sow doubt this entire time.
If any Democrat is gullible enough to agree to McConnell's vote, they could expose themselves to these sort of simplified charges, which Trump reportedly considers a key to attracting voters outside his base. And we're going to be voting on that in the Senate.
Mitch McConnell decides to step in and save the day.
Markey and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of NY led the unveiling of a resolution laying the groundwork for aggressive policy proposals created to combat climate change, which critics argue could be too costly to the economy and in some cases outright not feasible.
So far, Senators Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Amy Klobuchar, Kirsten Gillibrand and Cory Booker, who are all running for president, have co-sponsored the legislation. On Monday, Rep. Tom Suozzi (D-N.Y.), a moderate Democrat from Long Island with a seat on the powerful House Committee on Ways and Means, said he would support the resolution. The principles of the Green New Deal resonate with the American people - a mission to save all of creation by investing in massive job creation.
With the 2020 election already underway, however, a vote will force Democratic members of the Senate to make a political calculation to determine whether or not they will support the bill.
"The resolution will surely be opposed by some Democratic centrists", he concluded.
