The New York Times reports that she will be holding her first campaign event in SC on January 25.

Harris, who is African-American, also said she was "honored" to time her announcement to coincide with Martin Luther King Jr Day. She is expected to formally launch her campaign in Oakland, Calif. on Sunday.

During an emotional exchange between Harris and Professor Christine Blasey Ford, Harris said she believed Ford and praised her courage for coming forward.

As one of the earliest congressional critics of Trump's immigration policies, Harris has pushed hard for a deal to protect from deportation those immigrants who were brought to the country illegally as children, a group known as Dreamers. Her campaign could be aided by the schedule for the state-by-state party nominating process that is scheduled to begin in February 2020. She traveled extensively for candidates during the 2018 midterm elections and made a stop in Iowa, which holds its caucuses before any other state holds primary contests.

From the Palmetto State, Harris hopes to notch another win because of her neighboring state advantage in Nevada, where she has campaigned extensively for other candidates.

US Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., and Sen.

That specific question cannot be answered at this point, but Gray argues that while an examination of Harris' record-mixed as it is-can be revealing, the fact that she became a prosecutor in the first place might be a demerit she cannot escape. Just three months before announcing that she is jumping in the ring, she was asked directly about the question.
