2 bound bodies found in NYC were missing Virginia sisters

In the case of the deaths of the Ferea sisters, police said foul play has not been ruled out.

Meanwhile, both the NYPD and an official at the Saudi Embassy in Washington DC refuted an Associated Press (AP) claim the mother of the two sisters had said that she received a call from the Saudi Embassy requesting the family to leave the United States because the daughters had requested asylum.

The city medical examiner is still working on determining the cause of death. Their mother filed a missing persons report for Tala in December 2017. "Meet them? See them?"

Detectives have been in Virginia, where Tala had been reported missing in August, Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea told reporters Wednesday. Two months ago, the mother reported Tala as missing, but later withdrew the report after the teenager was found visiting her sister in NY.

"I think we've made significant progress in piecing together pieces of this puzzle to find out what happened", Shea said.

Imad spins Pakistan to victory against Australia in first Twenty20
Australia have been humiliated by Pakistan in the T20 series-opener, slumping to a 66-run defeat after being skittled for just 89. Their T20 skipper Aaron Finch said his team was motivated enough to win the series.

Rotana was enrolled at George Mason University but left earlier this year.

The two bodies were found on Wednesday at around 3:00pm by a passer-by who informed the police.

AP had previously reported that "The mother told detectives the day before the bodies were discovered, she received a call from an official at the Saudi Arabian Embassy, ordering the family to leave the U.S. because her daughters had applied for political asylum, NY police said Tuesday".

The Farea sisters' deaths have been shrouded in mystery since last week.

Police sources say they do not believe the sisters died by jumping off the George Washington Bridge, six miles upriver from where their bodies were found by Riverside Park.

Police sketches of the two women found taped together in the Hudson River on October 24, 2018. Surveillance cameras showed no signs of them on the bridge.

New York City police sent a detective to Virginia to learn more about the sisters.

Embassy officials said they were "following closely and constantly for details on the case" and had appointed a lawyer to help in this.

The Saudi embassy in Washington declined to comment on the reports.
