The lottery is giving away 250 coupons good for one Mega Millions ticket at the Red Mile parking lot at 1200 Red Mile Road in Lexington. The odds of any single person matching all six numbers are estimated somewhere in the neighborhood of one in 302 million.
And speaking of Powerball: That game's next drawing is Wednesday, for an estimated jackpot of $620 million.
The victor has opted to remain anonymous, but according to the Texas Lottery Commission, the individual claimed a $5,000,020 prize.
Since there was no victor in Saturday's drawing, the Powerball jackpot is now at $620 million. The drawing is Tuesday night.
The $1.6 billion jackpot surpasses the former all-time record, set by a Powerball drawing in January 2016, which rose to $1.586 billion. Several states permit online ticket purchases.
That's the value if the victor or winners select annuity payments. In comparison, the odds of getting killed by a shark are 1 in 3.7 million in a lifetime, according to the International Shark Attack File.
