According to Intel, the new K-series of 9th Gen processors push the boundaries by offering up to 10% more frames per second in games compared to last generation. One of the most interesting announcements is Core i9-9900K which has been labeled as "the best gaming processor in the world". "The results are absolutely clear". Leading the new group of products is the Intel Core i9-9900K and yes, it will indeed come with that multi-sided translucent packaging.
Meanwhile, Intel's 14nm has reportedly become the most profitable line of hardware the company has ever manufactured, though that's likely in part due to the necessity of using it as long as Intel has.
The new Core i9-9900K marks the very first time Intel has introduced an 8C/16T processor in the mainstream desktop market, with the CPU having a base clock of 3.6GHz and boost clock of 5GHz when in single/dual operation. All three chips are available to pre-order today, with prices going from $262 to $488.
Alongside, they also launched new 9th Gen Core i7 and Core i5 processors, too.
The lack of Hyper-Threading on the i7-9700K will provide quite the interesting performance comparison with the current flagship 6C/12T i7-8700K. It has a base clock speed limit of 3.6GHz and can be boosted up to a maximum of 4.9GHz.
The Core i5-9600K is a six-core SKU, also without Hyper-Threading, same 95W TDP, 3.7GHz base and 4.6GHz Turbo clock and 9MB of L3 cache.
Pompeo set to meet Kim Jong Un on Sunday
State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert told reporters Tuesday that the secretary expects to meet with Kim in Pyongyang. He left Pyongyang in July hailing progress, only for North Korea to denounce him for making "gangster-like demands".
Amazon just started listing the 8-core Core i9 9900K. All three of these processors will apparently work on all Z300-series motherboards, so those who bought into Z370 previous year will be able to drop a new CPU in after a BIOS update. It has a base clock speed of 3.1 GHz with max boosted clock speed of up to 4.3 GHz.
The Z390 platform will continue to feature the same "up to 40" PCI Express lanes that we've seen for several generations, with 16 lanes being directly connected to the CPU, and the rest coming from the chipset which is still connected via a DMI 3.0 link. We also know that Gigabyte and ASUS will be building motherboards to support this new chip.
