Man Utd news Jose Mourinho is under pressure at Old Trafford after defeat to West Ham
Already nine points adrift of Premier League leaders Manchester City and Liverpool after three defeats in seven league games, Mourinho was hoping for a reaction from Saturday's awful display in losing 3-1 to West Ham United.
Mourinho was furious that the club failed to sign a centre-back last summer and was desperate to sign one of Toby Alderweireld or Harry Maguire.
Just as previous games gone by, United saw a lot of the ball in the early stages of the first half but they were unable to threaten the Valencia goal.
Another game, another headache for Jose who is experiencing another low point in his managerial career with his Manchester United side having tasted no victory in their last three matches.
There was some improvement on last Saturday's display in their 3-1 loss to West Ham, but Valencia were not unduly troubled by the United attack and could have taken all three points had they made the most of opportunities on the break.
"I think it's a bad situation". I am sat here actually surprised he survived after Saturday, the performance was that bad.
Valencia were equally unconvincing going forward but Michy Batshuayi wasted a good chance midway through the second half, lashing over on the half-volley following a Francis Coquelin cross.
'They raised the level of their effort, they raised the level of their intensity in spite of not having that many players with that intensity. Our attacking players are not in their best moment of confidence and individual performance level, so we thought with three or four chances we would score and win the game, which we didn't.
