Severe weather warning issued as Hurricane Helene bears down on Ireland

Storm Helene is due to last until Wednesday

Helene is now 2,065km south-southwest of the Azores in the Atlantic and Met Éireann said the storm would approach the south coast by Tuesday.

Maximum sustained winds were nearly 85 miles per hour Monday morning, the hurricane center said.

The hurricane is now moving north at around 20km/h, and was expected to slow down today, becoming a tropical storm. "The models indicate it will travel up the west side of the United Kingdom, before crossing Scotland and going out the north of Scotland, but that could change as the storm degrades and changes its habits".

The 8 a.m. forecast on Hurricane Florence reinforces projections that the storm's path will shift slightly to the southeast as it closes in on the Carolinas.

Interestingly, the brand says the digital mirrors are shaped to "resist the accumulation of raindrops and snow". The digital mirrors are smaller than existing sideview mirrors that provide better forward visibility.

Irish weather authority Met Eireann has said it expects wet and windy weather from Storm Helene to hit the southern coast of the Republic on Tuesday, but does not expect any "severe or damaging weather". This rainfall may cause unsafe flash flooding, N.H.C. said.

Isaac is a weakening tropical storm and is expected to be shredded in the coming days and possibly be downgraded to a subtropical system as it meanders through the Caribbean in the next five days.

The storm is tracking to the west at 16 miles per hour.

Rain projections also increased, with some locations along the North Carolina coast now expected to get up to 40 inches. Mandatory evacuations have been issued for much of the SC and North Carolina coastline.

At this time no tropical storm/hurricane watches or warnings are in effect for Barbados.

Trump intensifies trade war, threatens duties on nearly all imports from China
Trump said that if Apple wants to avoid tariffs on its products, it should make those devices in the US rather than China . And I hate to say this, but behind that is another $267 billion ready to go on short notice if I want.

The NHC forecast track shows the storm decreasing in forward speed as it heads west towards Central America. "However, upper-level winds are forecast to become a little more conducive for development, and a tropical depression could still form Thursday or Friday before the system reaches the western Gulf Coast".
