The reality TV star voiced her desire to meet 63-year-old Alice Johnson after she was released from jail on Wednesday thanks to her intervention, American broadcaster TMZ said.

On her release, Johnson thanked Kardashian West for getting involved in her case, describing her as her "war angel" and thanking her for her dedication to Johnson's freedom.

Christine Samra is a web and social media producer for KPIX 5.

Alice Marie Johnson was convicted of drug conspiracy charges back in 1996. "We are optimistic about Ms. Johnson's future and hopeful that she-and so many like her-will get a second chance at life".

Chuck Schumer Rips Trump Amid Reported ZTE Deal
The company paid $892 million in fines, with an additional $300 million suspended to encourage compliance with the settlement. Citing "sources familiar with the matter", Reuters disclosed Tuesday that ZTE could soon be allowed to buy the US products.

"I think that he really spent the time to listen to our case that we were making for Alice", Kardashian West told Mic in an interview of her conversation with the president.

The president has also signaled that he could similarly favor lifestyle guru Martha Stewart, who went to jail for making false statements in an insider trading case, and commute the prison sentence of Rod Blagojevich, a former governor of IL convicted of corruption. She then delivered the news herself that Johnson's life plus 25-year sentence was being commuted.

As clemency petitions work their way through the system, the president routinely denies the "vast majority" of requests, a White House official said.

Now free, Kim is planning on meeting with Alice Marie Johnson face to face after she was initially moved by her story via Twitter.

It was Kardashian West who informed Johnson of the president's decision, said Shawn Holley, a Kardashian lawyer who helped advocate for clemency. "I promise you President Trump, I will make you proud that you gave me that second chance".

"It was unbelievable because she felt my mother's pain and change in her heart, and to come through and do that for my mom - forever, forever grateful", Scales said. "They said that they could see the place where my body lay, but they can never take me home again".

During his first year and half in office he has issued a number of pardons, however, mostly involving high-profile cases. The first was the pardon of Jack Johnson, a boxer, after Sylvester Stallone appealed to the president. "This is one case that went viral so a lot of people were made aware of it", Guster said.
