Five unidentified militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, police said.

Director General of Police (DGP) S.P. Vaid said all five holed-up militants in Badigam village have been killed.

Hundreds of people, mostly youth, hit the streets at several villages, adjacent to Badigam Imam Sahib, where encounter took place between militants holed up in a house and security forces.
