The attacks in Nigeria: dozens killed
02 May 2018, 01:33 | Tara Lloyd
Scenes of bloodshed and devastation have become common in northeast Nigeria where a jihadist insurgency has raged since 2009
The second bomber blew himself up among the crowds of worshippers, traders and shoppers who fled the mosque towards the butchery section of a nearby market.
The explosion occurred today's afternoon at a mosque in Wuro-Burode were worshippers are holding Zuhr (Afternoon ) prayer, Naija News understands. The prayer was mid-way when the bomber detonated the explosives.
A resident, Muhammad Hamidu, said: "I took part in the burial of 68 people".
One resident, Isa Danladi, said he had been about to leave his house near the mosque when he heard the blast.
There was a suicide attack last November on a mosque at Kunu Araha, a northern suburb of Mubi, which also killed dozens of woshippers.
Haruna HammanFuro, head of Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency, described the blast as "devastating", saying there were "high casualties".
The Cardinals pick... the Rosen one!
Rosen, who threw 59 touchdowns and 26 interceptions during his three seasons at UCLA, has a history of not being shy in the media. And while Bradford is unlikely to lead the Cardinals to a Super Bowl, there are worse places for Rosen to be than the Cardinals.
The blast was coming after the one that occurred in a Mosque in November in Mubi a year ago that claimed about 50 lives.
Suspicion for the attack immediately fell on Boko Haram, the jihadist group whose quest to establish a hardline Islamic state in northeast Nigeria has left at least 20,000 dead since 2009.
Mubi has suffered regular attacks by Boko Haram. That area is not far from the Sambisa Forest area where the extremists had a stronghold.
The Nigerian government had said since December 2015 that Boko Haram has been defeated.
