Trump undecided on scrapping Iran deal, Bolton says

Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron walk from the Oval Office of the White House in Washington

In a statement, the British government said the agreement came during separate phone calls by Prime Minister Theresa May to French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel over the weekend.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel and US President Donald Trump have aired differences over trade and North Atlantic Treaty Organisation at a White House meeting where they tried to put on a show of warmth despite tensions between the two allies.

"They committed to continue working closely together and with the U.S. on how to tackle the range of challenges that Iran poses - including those issues that a new deal might cover".

Negotiators among the United States as well as the three European powers have been working to try to finesse these issues so as to keep the USA in the agreement without driving Iran - which opposes any changes to the deal - out of it.

The death toll from protests in Nicaragua increased
The streets of Managua wore a devastated look following the clashes between the police and the protesters, AFP said further. Voices cry his name and someone presses a piece of cloth to his head to try to staunch the stream of blood.

French President Emmanuel Macron's talk this week of a "new deal with Iran" may not, in fact, represent anything new nor a deal with Iran.

The pair tried to sell Trump on the idea of the deal being a stepping stone to a longer-term, broader agreement, pitching a "four pillars" solution.

Sen. Chris Coons (D., Conn.) listed changes he would support to the Iran nuclear deal during an interview on "Fox News Sunday".

The first column is the current nuclear treaty with Iran.

Israel cancels expulsions of African migrants
Uganda recently backtracked on a deal with Israel to absorb several thousand migrants following days of negotiations in Kampala. Israel is still conducting what it calls "voluntary" deportations, though in reality there is nothing voluntary about them.

It refered to Tehran's ballistic missile programs, its nuclear activities beyond 2025 and "the main regional crises" in the Middle East.

Trump is due to decide by May 12 whether to reimpose nuclear-related sanctions on Tehran, putting in peril the landmark 2015 accord, which most world powers see as key to preventing Tehran from getting the bomb.

Earlier this month, U.S. ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley said that the North Korean leader Kim Jong Un had "looked at the Iran deal, he's seen what he can get and he's seen how he can push through loopholes and we're not going to let that happen again".

He also blamed Western countries for using "a missile theme" as a pretext to criticize the Iran nuclear deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
