NFL Draft Day 2: Steelers Snag A Pair Of Cowboys
30 April 2018, 02:19 | Tracey Rhodes
Mason Rudolph fits the role of heir apparent to Big Ben but do the Steelers need one yet?
The Steelers still need help at inside linebacker with Ryan Shazier already ruled out for the 2018 season while he recovers from spinal surgery.
After five quarterbacks were selected in the first round, none were taken in the second, with Rudolph sitting as the top available QB until the Steelers popped up with the 12th pick in the third round.
They drafted quarterback Mason Rudolph from Oklahoma State with the 76th overall pick in the third-round. He also led the nation a year ago with 19 catches of 30 yards or longer, 11 catches of 40 yards or longer and eight catches of 50 yards or longer. He finished his OSU career with 4,462 receiving yards, most in Cowboy history.
The Cardinals pick... the Rosen one!
Rosen, who threw 59 touchdowns and 26 interceptions during his three seasons at UCLA, has a history of not being shy in the media. And while Bradford is unlikely to lead the Cardinals to a Super Bowl, there are worse places for Rosen to be than the Cardinals.
Rudolph enjoyed the best season of his career in 2017, completing 65 percent of his passes for 4,904 yards and 37 touchdowns with nine interceptions.
There will be many chances for Rudolph to prove himself, but not until Ben Roethlisberger retires.
Roethlisberger, 36, has said he will return for the 2018 season, but his future beyond that point remains in the air.
Mike Pompeo: US 'deeply concerned' over Iran 'threats'
On 14 May comes the US Embassy move, marking a significant shift in decades of American policy toward Israel and the Palestinians. The crisis erupted last summer, when Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the UAE blocked the country, accusing it of supporting terrorism.
On the other side of the line, the Steelers return left tackle Alejandro Villanueva, a U.S. Military Academy graduate who in 2017 became the first service academy alum to make the NFL Pro Bowl.
Rudolph was projected as a fringe first round draft pick whose status as an Air Raid quarterback would limit his appeal. He the first OSU quarterback selected in an National Football League draft since Brandon Weeden was taken in the first round in 2012. Receivers Marcell Ateman and Chris Lacy, and safety Tre Flowers are among the OSU players who could be targeted on Saturday.

The death toll from protests in Nicaragua increased
The streets of Managua wore a devastated look following the clashes between the police and the protesters, AFP said further. Voices cry his name and someone presses a piece of cloth to his head to try to staunch the stream of blood.
DeMarcus Cousins Unlikely To Get Max Contract In Free Agency
The report particularly mentioned Cousins' torn Achilles tendon as a possible reason why Los Angeles could overlook him. The most recent matchup between the two teams was April 7, when New Orleans beat Golden State 126-120 at Oracle Arena.
Former Harbor Hawk star Manaea no-hits Red Sox
After Jed Lowrie struck out for the third time, Davis lined the first pitch into the seats in left field for his sixth home run. But they couldn't do any more damage. "It's a lot of momentum, a lot of confidence building", third baseman Matt Chapman said.
Former Florida OL Trent Brown traded from 49ers to Patriots
The Patriots are clearing making the OL a focus after drafting Georgia G Isaiah Wynn with pick #23 overall in the 1st round. Brown is entering the final year of his contract and San Francisco drafted McGlinchey ninth overall to take his role.
Proteas to play hosts England in CWC opener
Old Trafford will host the 10-team tournament's most-anticipated match on June 16 between Asian arch-rivals India and Pakistan. The collapse of bilateral cricket between the bitter South Asian neighbours means their fans can only watch them in ICC events.
