The attorney general asked U.S. Attorney John Huber to investigate Republicans' allegations that the DOJ and Federal Bureau of Investigation abused a surveillance program against a former Trump campaign aide.

"We do not believe the Department of Justice is capable of investigating and evaluating these fact patterns in a fashion likely to garner public confidence", House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte of Virginia and House Oversight Chairman Trey Gowdy of SC wrote in a letter to Sessions earlier this month. "He has been recognized at the highest levels in the Department of Justice for his performance", Mr. Hatch said in a statement, the Deseret News reported.

He argued they have all of the evidence necessary justify the appointment of a second special counsel, and they also have much more of a factual basis than there was to warrant Mueller's investigation of President Trump and his campaign. "I am confident that Mr. Huber's review will include a full, complete and objective evaluation of these matters in a manner that is consistent with the law and facts". The Attorney General does not publicly discuss ongoing investigations. Isn't the I.G.an Obama guy?

"It still highlights the outrageous hypocrisy that exists at the Department of Justice", he said.

Paul Pogba scores glorious free-kick and sets up Mbappe during France win
This was the first France game in which Manchester United's Pogba has scored and assisted a goal. The likes of Scott McTominay and Marouane Fellaini have been preferred by the Red Devils boss.

The documents, Carter said, reveal that former Senate majority leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., asked former FBI Director James Comey to investigate the Trump allegations.

Sessions' letter has not been popular on either side of the political spectrum.

Huber's appointment might allay some. "We understand that the department is not above criticism and it can never be that the department conceals errors where they occur", the Los Angeles Times quotes Sessions as writing in a letter to three Republican lawmakers.

Huber was unanimously confirmed twice by the Senate in 2015 and 2017 to be the US Attorney for the District of Utah.

North Atlantic Treaty Organisation expels 7 Russian diplomats, denies accreditation to 3 more
The comments came as Ireland became the 24th country to join the the United Kingdom in diplomatic action against the Kremlin. In retaliation, Moscow expelled an equal number of British diplomats and closed a British consular mission.

Thus when an Inspector General, in the course of an IG investigation discovers criminal activity, the IG must report the discovery to someone who can do something about it. U. S. Attorney John Huber of Utah can do something about it.

Sessions added Huber is conducting his investigation outside the Washington, DC area and remains in close cooperation with Horowitz.

Sen. Orrin Hatch, Utah Republican, said past year that he was pleased by the appointment.

It is not unheard of for sitting US attorneys to be asked to handle high-profile, Washington-centric investigations, although it has been done in different ways.
