Under the new rules, to be enforced starting in April, YouTube will prohibit videos that link to sites selling firearms or gun accessories. In October, following the mass shooting in Las Vegas, it banned videos demonstrating how to convert firearms to fire more quickly (e.g. using bump stocks). No videos that provide instructions on making or installing a gun, ammunition, high-capacity magazine, homemade silencer or other certain accessories will be allowed.

Google-owned video platform, YouTube, has released new policies on content featuring firearms.

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang appointed to second 5-year term
Several Asian leaders among many heads of state and government today congratulated Xi Jinping on his re-election as China's president for life.

YouTube has "long prohibited" the promotion of firearms, the spokeswoman added, and says that owners of gun channels are notified well in advance of any policy updates. YouTube has been a popular repository for gun-related content.

YouTube's streaming service will reportedly also include exclusive videos and playlists. The company had already banned videos that attempted to sell firearms.

Hamilton on pole in Melbourne, Hartley 16th
Of course it can always be a little bit better so we just have to look for the future but of course even every track is different. Ricciardo's penalty will drop him to eighth in the race starting order, handing Magnussen Haas's best-ever grid slot in fifth.

But it turns out, Spike's Tactical isn't alone and a number of firearms companies and channels owned by Second Amendment enthusiasts have been banned.

"We're updating our policies around content featuring firearms as part of our regular changes we make to our policies on an ongoing basis", the announcement read. "We see the real potential for the blocking of educational content that serves instructional, skill-building and even safety purposes". According to the Universal Music Group, the deal would act as an encouragement for its artists and further extends YouTube's commitment to protect music rights. The exercise of what amounts to censorship, then, can legitimately be viewed as the stifling of commercial free speech. Last month a slew of businesses cut ties with the National Rifles Association (NRA) following the Parkland, Florida school shooting that claimed 17 lives. What do you think about the new firearms policy?

It's spring in New England
There may be a brief period of rain before turning to heavy snow as temperatures cool quickly. We will have to watch to see if this becomes our 5th Nor'easter in the past few weeks.

While the move will be frustrating for the millions of users who use the platform as a free streaming alternative, it's a win for YouTube in terms of business. The platform is more widely known for its pre-recorded content, while its main competitor Twitch continues to be the platform of choice for most video game streamers.
