GETTYRoger Federer is currently World No 1
Novak Djokovic admitted last night that he had "run out of gas" after tamely losing his first match at the Miami Open.
The Serb was stunned by Benoit Paire in the second round of the Miami Open. Djokovic's attempt to chase a Paire drop shot early in the first set was symbolic of his struggles throughout the match when he appeared to be in some physical discomfort.
It had all looked routine for Federer when he moved ahead after just 34 minutes, but his quality slipped enough to allow his young Australian opponent to come storming back and progress to the third round.
German fourth seed Alexander Zverev mounted a fightback in his opener after a bye, overcoming Russian Daniil Medvedev 6-4 1-6 7-6 (7-5).
There was another impressive victory for Indian Wells semi-finalist Borna Coric who came from a set down to beat Leonardo Mayer in a match that lasted four minutes short of three hours, while Russian 32nd seed Karen Khachanov also booked his place in the last 32. But he was encouraged in Miami this week to find himself playing without pain for the first time "in years".
When asked if he expects to regain his championship level, Djokovic said he didn't know.
'Obviously I compromised my game and the movement and everything because of the injury. I lost to a better player. To be fair, it is only Djokovic's third tournament since 2017 Wimbledon, so he has not played many matches - six, to be exact.
'I love playing on the hard court. I wanted to get a couple tournaments before the clay-court season starts. "I'm trying to figure things out and see what happens".
Conte targeting FA Cup and top-four finish
Messi then scored his 100 Champions League goal to hand the Catalan giants a massive 4-1 aggregate win. Courtois added that they should focus on the FA Cup now with that being the only chance at silverware.
"I obviously wasn't ready for that".
Former US Open victor Del Potro extended his win streak to 12 straight matches as he seeks his third straight ATP title after winning back-to-back in Acapulco and Indian Wells.

Elsewhere in the men's draw, Portugal's Joao Sousa produced a superb display to knock out seventh seed David Goffin of Belgium.
