Outlook Web Apps mobile apps retiring in May for Android and iOS users much to their dismay
This will allow users to use their smartphone as keyboard or mouse.
Samsung and Huawei already have optimized their flagship smartphones as "minicomputers", seeing as how they can be connected to the PC monitor effortlessly. Microsoft, with its "Continuum" mode had introduced a similar feature earlier. That appears to be changing with the release of Android P as we were sent a tip by XDA Member 500 Internal Server Error that two commits finally enable Bluetooth HIDD.
Requiring root to use this feature makes it hard for a vast majority of users.
The way this feature will work on Android P phones is quite simple - by using wireless Bluetooth technology.
Enabling the Bluetooth feature will allow you to use various "Bluetooth Profiles" such as Hands-Free-Profile and Advanced Audio Distribution Profile that helps in transmitting uncompressed audio signals while calling or listing to music, making it a better experience.
Having said that, there are some root-enabled apps now available on Google Play Store that allow you to enable Bluetooth HID support and use you phones as a Bluetooth keyboard. A device will need to be running the latest version of Android, obviously, but being able to emulate a trackpad can be really nifty for things like Razer's Project Linda.
