Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez apparently handed in a transfer request on Tuesday evening after news broke that Manchester City were interested in him.

Leicester are said be considering the offer, but the clock is ticking before the transfer window slams shut at 11pm.

City insist the move for Mahrez was not a reaction to the ankle injury sustained to Leroy Sane, who has been ruled out for up to seven weeks with ligament damage.

IPhone battery biting is apparently a thing
Was the iPhone battery a genuine one? One man recently demonstrated why you should not consider biting your cell phone battery. It is not immediately clear if the battery exploded because it was damaged by the man's teeth or whether it was a fake.

In order to sign Algeria worldwide Mahrez they would likely have to break the record again, with Leicester unlikely to let the 26-year-old leave for less than £90 million.

It is understood that the Foxes were only prepared to do business if City could put together a deal worth around £95 million.

Leicester want at least £90 million and that is just too much for Mahrez. He feels very strongly that he has done everything in his powers for the club.

West Bromwich Albion: Foster; Dawson, Hegazi, McAuley, Gibbs; Phillips, Jacob, Livermore, McClean; Rodriguez, Rondon. Roberto Firmino has played quite a few games in the last month or so and needs to have a break.

The Algerian, who won the Premier League title with Leicester in the 2015/16 season, was linked with a move away from the club in the summer transfer window, but nothing ever materialised.

"They have let N'Golo Kante and Danny Drinkwater go". We spoke many times with the club about what is the best for the players we have and the amount of players we have.

"He's given his all for Leicester. Joining City would have been a dream".

Fleetwood fires on back-nine to defend Abu Dhabi title
Fleetwood added that the tough conditions made it easier for him to focus. "It was important to come out and make sure I'm hungry. I just really wanted to win this one", said Fleetwood, who is expected to advance from 18th to 11th in the rankings on Monday.

Pep Guardiola had previously refused to talk about any interest in the winger. That seems a long way off right now.
