The new voice sounds more human compared to the robotic tone owners of Amazon devices like the Echo are used to hearing when requesting Alexa's services. You should now ask the Amazon Echo device to send a text message or send an SMS. Sure, you can use your voice to send SMS text messages using Google Assistant, but having another way to send SMS using your voice doesn't hurt.
Enabling Alexa SMS messaging is really easy.
German Alexa is, as you might expect, precise and proper.
Another user asked Alexa to play country music as he sat in his living room, reading a newspaper. Alexa app had earlier earned the wrath of its users after it automatically imported contact details. After the backlash, the online retailer added contact blocking. And now, the company could be introducing a huge change to Assistant, starting with phones.
The ad jumps to a hectic newsroom where the main story is that "Alexa lost her voice this morning". Following on from a strong Christmas campaign, the agency has risen to the Super Bowl challenge with an ad that has plenty of warmth and humour but zero schmaltz. There's no word as to when the ability to send an SMS via Alexa will come to iOS users. Alexa is also capable of speaking in Canadian and India English accents. And while she speaks Japanese in Japan, she can't bring herself to do so here.
US users can even bolt a full home service to Alexa, and it surely won't be long before the same is true here. Such teasers help in boosting the excitement around the offering. For the ad to appear in the Super Bowl, NBC is charging at least $5 million per 30-second spot.
