With news of Mike Locksley becoming the next offensive coordinator for Alabama football, Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban is still working to fill out the rest of the coaching staff. That experiment lasted just two months before the former Southern Cal head coach left to become the Atlanta Falcons' offensive coordinator last February.
Prior to landing in Tuscaloosa, Locksley served as Maryland's offensive coordinator and QB coach from 2012-15, serving a brief stint as the interim coach after the firing of Randy Edsall.
Daboll helped lead the Crimson Tide offense to the program's fifth national championship under Saban despite an inconsistent passing game behind second-year starting quarterback Jalen Hurts. Before coaching at Maryland, Locksley was the head coach of New Mexico from 2009-11. He previously led the offenses at Maryland and IL.
