Steve Bannon subpoenaed to special counsel in Russian Federation probed

Former White House strategist Steve Bannon appeared on Capitol Hill Tuesday to testify before the House Intelligence Committee as part of the ongoing Russian Federation probe.

Bannon testified Tuesday before the House Intelligence Committee, where Fox News congressional correspondent Chad Pergram reported he was issued another subpoena.

Ex-Donald Trump aide Steve Bannon has been summoned to testify before a grand jury in the US - Russia inquiry, the BBC quotes US media as reporting.

Sources told Fox News the subpoena was issued after the Federal Bureau of Investigation was initially unable to contact Bannon.

Diana, Princess of Wales dined at the hotel shortly before she was killed in a vehicle crash on the night of August 31, 1997. The hotel, owned by Mohamed Al Fayed, reopened last year after four years of refurbishment work.

(Trump Jr., Kushner, and Manafort have all denied wrongdoing.) Bannon then zeroed in on Kushner specifically, adding that "i$3 t goes through Deutsche Bank and all the Kushner shit".

But sitting White House officials rarely appear before the congressional panels investigating Russian Federation meddling, making Hicks' appearance even more significant - especially given her ties to the President.

Peter Carr, spokesman for the special counsel, declined to comment on the ongoing investigation. Mr Bannon stepped down from his role as chief executive of Breitbart News shortly thereafter.

Regardless, Bannon is an important figure in Trump's drive to the White House - and he may have interesting things to tell Mueller.

Bannon previous year had largely avoided the scrutiny of congressional investigators, who instead focused much of their energy on trying to secure interviews with top witnesses like Manafort and former national security adviser Michael Flynn. Bannon said that he believed there was "zero" chance that the younger Trump did not take them to meet his father, who has said he knew nothing about the meeting.

But Trump accused Bannon of having "lost his mind" when news of his comments to Wolff surfaced earlier this month. Bannon did not apologize, however, and though he had approved the statement, an associate sent it to reporters without his knowledge.

Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA), the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, also wants to hear what Bannon has to say.

Her salary is the largest paid to anyone working for President Trump, and matches that paid to assistant and senior counselor Kellyanne Conway, 50.
