'Injuries and casualties' from Amtrak derailment

Injuries have been reported in the derailment of a passenger Amtrak train near Olympia.

"Something went very, very wrong and there are some questions we will demand to be answered", said Rep. Denny Heck (D-WA) in a statement.

Conductor: "We were coming around the corner to take the bridge over I-5 there ... and we went on the ground".

All southbound lanes of the interstate are closed due to the derailment and the sight stunned motorists heading to work.

An Amtrak train derailed on Monday roughly 64 kilometers south of Seattle killing three people and over 50 others were hospitalised, spilling cars onto a busy interstate.

Federation Internationale de Football Association threatens to throw Spain out of 2018 World Cup
FIFA added the associations must be assured that their internal affairs do not get affected by third parties. Ramos said: "I can't believe we could miss out due to such a dispute".

But she cautioned that several of the roughly 100 people taken to area hospitals were in critical condition. "There are a lot of critical injuries".

The maximum speed drops from 79 miles per hour to 30 miles per hour for passenger trains just before the tracks curve to cross Interstate 5, according to a track chart prepared by the Washington State Department of Transportation. Nobody in those vehicles died.

A local reporter for local NBC affiliate KING 5 News captured video footage aboard the Amtrak train that derailed in DuPont, Washington, on Monday. Bova said officials are also concerned about leaking fuel at the crash site.

Danae Orlob told CNN there was a semi and a crushed truck underneath the train cars.

Amtrak says the National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the incident.

Pierce County Sheriff's office said "injuries and casualties" have been reported but no numbers are available at this time.

Monday was the first day of service for Amtrak Cascades, a new high-speed service, on the new route called Bypass of Point Defiance.

"I'm not sure what happened", he said.

Amtrak suspended service south of Seattle following the derailment. Team will depart DC today.

But the technology was only expected to be used next year when it is activated on the entire rail corridor, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. "We're praying for everyone on board the train and ask everyone to hold them in your thoughts".
