New Harry Potter mobile game to be released next year

There is a new chapter in Harry Potter's story, but it wasn't written by the original author, J.K. Rowling. Interactive Entertainment, and will launch under the brand's new game label, Portkey Games, dedicated to creating games inspired by Rowling's Harry Potter book series.
While fans can walk around inside a physical recreation of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios theme parks, there's nothing that simulates the experience of being a student at the school from the Harry Potter books and movies. Niantic is producing the title with Warner Bros. Since it seems to strictly follow Harry Potter lore, expect this currency to be called Galleons, like the currency in the books that Harry uses to purchase parchment, quills and other school supplies. Josh Yguado, the COO of Jam City, tells VentureBeat that the company has already been hard at work on this game for more than two years. We fill safe in saying that isn't going to be an incredibly deep RPG experience, but there are some questions concerning whether or not this game will be a collection of class-based minigames or a fully-fledged story complete with combat, character building, and all that good stuff. Surely, we will be back with more detailed news about Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery.
And of course, the end features a classic Harry declaration, with our hero shouting, "I'm Harry Potter".

The sample chapter (titled The Handsome One) is "continuity-agnostic", so the plot makes very little sense - but it also reads exactly like a Harry Potter book. According to WB and Jam City, most of the iconic professors from Hogwarts will appear in the game.
