Wind-whipped wildfires were tearing through neighborhoods in northern Los Angeles County, blackening more than 4,500 acres and destroying multiple homes.

No fatalities were reported but three firefighters were injured Tuesday in their battle against the Creek Fire, which was zero percent contained Tuesday night. She and her family were given just enough time to gather some necessities but not their horses, Padilla said.

Virginia Padilla, whose family owns a ranch in Sylmar, had the devastating loss of at least 30 horses to the 11,000-acre blaze dubbed the Creek Fire. There is now a mandatory evacuation zone for residents on either side of the 405 freeway, map is below. Two firefighting helicopters have been assigned.

The strong, desiccating Santa Ana winds have created ideal conditions for wildfires, by compressing hot air in the L.A. basin, and prompting the spread of embers well ahead of any fires that crop up. The Los Angeles Police Department was on a citywide tactical alert, which allows commanders maximum flexibility in deploying resources.

But Trump never signed off, and officials have struggled to focus his attention on the matter, the individual said. White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders says there are "no personnel announcements at this time".

A fire east of the 405 freeway near the Getty Center has closed the 405 freeway in both directions north of the 10 freeway, says the LA Times.

The 210 Freeway has been shut down from Sunland Boulevard on the east to the 5 Freeway on the west, and the 118 Freeway interchange with the 210 is also closed amid the firefight.

Residents living south of Mulholland, east of the 405, north of Sunset Boulevard, and west of Roscomare Road were told to leave their homes.

Mandatory evacuations were ordered in Kagel Canyon and some other nearby areas.

Griffin hurt; Clippers hang on to beat Lakers 120-115
Last season, Griffin played in just 61 games after an injury and issue plagued 2015-2016 season limited him to just 35 games. Griffin is expected to return this season, which is good news after seeing how bad that injury looked.

Seventeen evacuation centers were opened throughout the San Fernando Valley, all of which were accepting evacuees and pets.

As an inferno rages in the Los Angeles area, photos and video posted to the internet are making the predawn commute look downright apocalyptic.

All Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District schools will be closed Wednesday due to new fire developments.
