Jimbo Fisher resigns at Florida State to take Texas A&M job

There were a mix of reactions Friday on Florida State's campus after news of Jimbo Fisher's choice to leave FSU for Texas A&M University quickly spread around the Internet.

Fisher made $5.7 million this year and was the sixth highest paid coach in the country.

Fisher had hoped to wait until after Florida State's regular season finale before announcing the move.

Confirmed: ESPN had a spot months ago that featured a UL-Monroe Warhawks fan getting Fisher out of the picture at Florida State.

His silence on whether he is going to take the open Texas A&M job has reportedly ruffled the feathers of some high-ranking FSU athletic officials and boosters, who seem resigned to the idea that Fisher wants out of Tallahassee. They'll hire a great coach.

However, despite being ranked No. 3 heading into this season, Florida State has just five wins and is merely aiming to become bowl eligible.
