Harvey Weinstein and Bob Weinstein Sued Under Sex Trafficking Law

Harvey Weinstein & TWC Hit With Claims Of Sex Trafficking At Cannes 2014

British actress and model Kadian Noble has filed a lawsuit against Harvey and Bob Weinstein, accusing them under sex trafficking laws.

They met again in February 2014 in Cannes, where the troubled movie producer asked her to come to the Le Majestic Hotel "where he would review her reel and discuss her future".

Weinstein pulled Kadian into the bathroom, where he forced himself on her, the lawsuit alleges.

The deal is a coup for Meredith, which held unsuccessful talks to buy Time earlier this year and in 2013. It also runs 17 local news stations in 12 markets.

"Kadian has suffered severe injuries and emotional distress, pain and suffering, mental anguish, inconvenience, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life, inability to lead a normal life, shame and humiliation", lawyer Stuart Mermelstein writes.

The company violated US sex trafficking law by "benefiting from, and knowingly facilitating, the venture in which Harvey Weinstein traveled in foreign commerce to recruit or entice female actors into forced or coerced sexual encounters on the promise of roles", states the lawsuit. In a statement issued, a Directors Guild of America's spokesperson said, 'Harvey Weinstein resigned from his membership from the Directors Guild of America effective today.' They have denied to further comment on the matter. She's suing Weinstein, the Weinstein Company, and T.W.C.'s United Kingdom branch for "damages for personal injury, expenses, consequential loss including aggravated and exemplary damages, and interest arising out of a series of sexual assaults inflicted on the claimant by the defendant", Deadline writes. Weinstein then continued to sexually assault her, the suit said.

Bob Weinstein is yet to respond to the suit, but has denied any knowledge in his brother Harvey's alleged misconduct.

Hamilton Heights fire engulfs roof of apartment building
It is not yet known how many people have been displaced by the fire, and the initial cause of the inferno has not been reported. A huge blaze is ripping through an apartment building in Manhattan, New York City, sending large plumes of smoke into the sky.

Weinstein "blocked her exit" next according to court papers and 'pulled down Kadian's shirt, revealing her breasts, and unbuckled his trousers and belt'. This referred to a woman who had sex with Harvey in exchange for a role or job in a project. "Harvey Weinstein traveled in foreign commerce, knowingly recruiting or enticing Kadian offering her something of value, knowing that he would use this offer as a means to defraud, force or coerce her into a sexual encounter, the complaint adds".

"Everything will be taken care of for you if you relax."
He then started to rub her breast and buttocks, according to the suit. She cried out for him to stop, but Weinstein undressed her and forced her to perform sexual acts on him. "Mr. Weinstein has further confirmed that there were never any acts of retaliation against any women for refusing his advances".
