Clippers in 'wait and see' mode after Blake Griffin injures left knee

Blake Griffin

Griffin, 28, fell down under the basket and clutched his left knee with a little more than three minutes left in the Clippers' 120-115 victory.

The injury occurred late in the fourth quarter with the Lakers' Lonzo Ball chasing a loose ball and running into the Clippers' Austin Rivers. Examinations revealed no structural damage in Griffin's knee, per ESPN.

With Griffin's injury, the Clippers will be without 4 of their 5 opening night starters. After dealing away point guard Chris Paul to the Houston Rockets, an 8-11 start has been awful for a franchise that's won 51 or more games in each of the last five seasons.

Union County families adopt 9 kids on National Adoption Day
Around 200 children in Snohomish County are legally separated from their biological parents and waiting to be adopted. Since then, Charlotte has been a member of the family, but on Friday, the Porters made it official.

He played for about a minute longer, but then was taken out by Clippers coach Doc Rivers with 3 minutes, 53 seconds left in the game.

Griffin is expected to return this season, which is good news after seeing how bad that injury looked.

The Clippers have been riddled with injuries this season, including season-ending microfracture knee surgery to starting point guard Patrick Beverley. They're now barely more than $100,000 below the tax, meaning adding a 15th player for the remainder of the season would take the Clippers over the tax line.

Trump defends Roy Moore: 'He totally denies it'
Asked if having an alleged molester in the Senate was preferable to seating a Democrat, Trump pointed to Moore's denials. Trump's position is a break from other national Republicans, who have called on Moore to step aside.

Given we can expect the Clippers to play at a pace slightly better than.500 with Griffin, they'd have to be close to even by the time he returns.

Rivers appeared to have fallen on Griffin, whose knee got twisted as he landed on his back. They are now without starters Milos Teodosic (foot) and Danilo Gallinari (hip), while guard Patrick Beverley is lost for the season after knee surgery. We'll find out more after he undergoes tests Tuesday. Last season, Griffin played in just 61 games after an injury and issue plagued 2015-2016 season limited him to just 35 games. But Jordan, selected for the All-NBA team the past three seasons, would be an upgrade in the middle for most teams, so there should be interest.
