At least one person was killed in a shooting incident Monday night near University of Utah in the western United States, police said.
Police say they are seeking a 24-year-old suspect.
An alert was issued to students across campus that read, "Shots fired".
Austin Boutain, 24, wanted in connection with a shooting death on the University of Utah campus October 30, 2017, is shown in this undated photo in Salt Lake City, Utah, U.S., provided October 31, 2017.
Salt Lake City police asked the Golden Police Department to do a welfare check at a trailer at the Clear Creek RV Park in central Golden after a green 2000 Ford pickup truck registered to a man living there was linked to the shooting. He has a brother who lives in Alexandria and other family in Minnesota.
Global student ChenWei Guo - a 23-year-old native of China who first came to Utah as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - had been killed in a carjacking attempt. Brophy said at the Tuesday afternoon news conference that a helicopter was still searching east of campus when news came in that Boutain had been found.
Authorities believe the man had been dead for several days.
Shortly after 9 p.m. Boutain allegedly shot Guo in the head.
