WhatsApp is internally working to implement group voice calls! | WABetaInfo
This is not the first time that we have been hearing about WhatsApp testing group calling feature.
Keeping user privacy intact, WhatsApp stated that like all of its other messaging functions, location sharing will be end-to-end encrypted. So, in order to provide its users a more advanced voice and video calling experience, WhatsApp is gearing up to provide group voice as well as group video calling feature to its users.
WhatsApp now allows users to make voice and video calls to their individual contacts, but the options only appear inside one-on-one conversations.
The website wrote: "Unfortunately there is actually nothing that we can show you as abovementioned, seen that WhatsApp is internally working on it, but when WhatsApp will add something more that will be possible to show, we will immediately publish all screenshots and information". However, they might not appear before the end of the year, as the features still require "a lot of development" and WhatsApp "has other priorities" - including an "unsend" feature, which will let you recall messages you've sent within a 5 minute window.
