Wesley Mathews 37 arrested for suspected child endangerment
The warrant states that Wesley Mathews told police his daughter choked on milk in the early morning hours of October 7 and "believed she had died".
Richardson police said the Dallas medical examiner's office used dental records to confirm the identity of the body that was found Sunday. Her cause of death is still pending.
That evening, Mathews was arrested and charged with abandoning or endangering a child, "as a result of his decision to place her outside a place of safety", Richardson police posted to Facebook. Sherin started to choke and was coughing, Matthews said, adding that her breathing then began to slow.

It further stated that the train departed at 9 am from Karmali and 230 passengers were served breakfast on board. The IRCTC officials said that an enquiry would be initiated to find out the cause of the food poisoning.
He was booked into the Richardson City Jail on a $1 million bond.
After looking around for her, he said he then went inside to do laundry and made a decision to wait until morning to continue searching or for her to return on her own, police sergeant Kevin Perlich said. The judge postponed the hearing until November 13 to give Wesley Mathews time to hire a civil attorney, said Marissa Gonzales, a spokeswoman for Child Protective Services. "Eventually the 3 year old girl began to drink the milk", the report quotes a new police warrant issued to arrest Wesley.
Investigators combed Sherin's neighborhood and the surrounding area with canine teams and helicopters and executed a search warrant at Mathews' home on October 10, police said. "It is possible there would be additional arrests or modifications of the charges as the investigation proceeds", he said.
Officers Fired in United Incident
The officers made misleading statements and "deliberately removed material facts from their reports", the investigation found. The Aviation Department is also subsequently reviewing its policies in reaction to the investigation's recommendations.
Now, Wesley has been charged on a charge of felony injury to a child, under which he faces "five to 99 years or life in prison", Star-Telegram said. According to an arrest affidavit, Mathews told police that his daughter choked while drinking milk and he removed her body from the house as he "believed she had died". Wesley Mathews then physically assisted the 3-year-old girl in drinking the milk.
When asked Monday evening if Wesley Mathews' new account to police included any changes to what his wife was doing at the time, Perlich would not provide details. The couple described a special diet regimen that required her to eat whenever she was awake, in order to help her gain weight. A judge said Monday that the girl will remain in foster care until a custody hearing in November. The judge postponed the hearing until November 13 to give Wesley Mathews time to hire a civil attorney, said Marissa Gonzales, a spokeswoman for Child Protective Services.
