Richardson police say they found a small child's body Sunday during the search for missing 3-year-old Sherin Mathews.

The Richardson Police Department said on October 12 that one of the Mathews vehicles had left the residence the morning Sherin went missing, between 4 and 5 a.m., between the time Mathews said Sherin disappeared and the time he called police.

In a news conference, police said the body was discovered during search efforts for the missing girl.

The girl's father, Wesley Mathews, 37, was arrested on October 7 for suspected child endangerment after he told police that he disciplined Sherin for not drinking her milk by telling her to stand outside at night near an alley behind their residence. He told police when he went back outside about 15 minutes later the child was gone.

He reported the disappearance only after sunrise.

Google said an average person burns 90 calories for every mile they walk, but doesn't clarify what an "average" person looks like. TechCrunch also wrote that excessive calorie counting "is a hallmark of anorexia nervosa and other eating disorders".

The father, who is now out on bond, is being tracked with a Global Positioning System monitor and his release report has specified not to have contact with any minor child.

The location where the body was found is close to the Matthews' home, according to Dallas News. Kevin Perlich told reporters.

According to an arrest affidavit, Wesley told Sherin to stand near a large tree in the backyard.

Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, US Marshals and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, participated in the fortnight-long search for Sherin.

The spokesman added that they are waiting for positive identification and for an autopsy to determine the reasons what killed the child.

Reports state that Sherin's four-year-old sister has been taken into custody by child protective services and placed in foster care.

Police were not alerted to her disappearance until about five hours later.

Search warrants obtained by WFAA reveal Federal Bureau of Investigation detectives seized a variety of electronics from the family's home - including five cell phones, three laptops, a tablet, and a digital camera. The mother, Sini, said she was asleep when the incident took place.

Sherins case also caught the attention of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
