A day after several passengers fell ill after having food in Tejas Express, Railways Monday said the quality of food served on the train was satisfactory and passengers fell sick after two children vomited in the train which vitiated the air in the coach.
The IRCTC runs the train's pantry. The IRCTC officials said that an enquiry would be initiated to find out the cause of the food poisoning. A probe carried out by the railway into the incident has concluded that food quality served on Tejas Express was satisfactory in quality and in no way contributed to the passengers' condition.
However, some local reports said that more than 40 to 50 persons developed symptoms of food-poisoning, though there is no official confirmation on that. "The Konkan Railway officials had arranged first aid and ambulances for the passengers".

26 patients were admitted to a hospital where three were taken to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
He also said that the IRCTC has collected the raw material from the kitchen. It has pulled up the Railways for mismanagement of catering services, poor quality food and monopolisation that has led to compromise in quality.
"The passengers were taken to government and private hospitals", the official said.
How Gravitational Waves Are Detected
These "waves" would propagate outward at the speed of light, but the waves themselves were extremely faint. Raymond Davis Jr., who was 88 years old when he was awarded the Nobel Prize in 2002, is the oldest.
It further stated that the train departed at 9 am from Karmali and 230 passengers were served breakfast on board.
A preliminary interaction with the passengers, train conductor and travelling ticket examiners and AC mechanics revealed that there were two groups - one from Himachal Pradesh and another from West Bengal which were among the affected.
"He very clearly and categorically said that there was no problem with food quality", the report added. However, it said some passengers had complained about a smell from their omelets and the "quality of omelet may be ensured while serving". The 20-coach Tejas Express was the first Indian Railways' train to have automatic doors and secured gangways for all coaches.
