Donald Trump at UN General Assembly
Pakistan has raised objection with the U.S. over President Donald Trump advocating greater role for India in the war-torn Afghanistan, the country's top diplomat said on Wednesday.
"Victory would look like people in the Government of Afghanistan (being able to) handle this threat from the terrorists, using their own security forces, with worldwide mentors probably there for many years to come", U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said recently.
US President Donald Trump today told world leaders that it is time to "expose" and "hold responsible" those countries that provide funding and safe havens to terror groups, weeks after he warned Pakistan for supporting "agents of chaos".
"We can no longer be silent about Pakistan's safe havens for terrorist organizations, the Taliban and other groups that pose a threat to the region and beyond", Trump said in a major speech outlining U.S. policy on Afghanistan on August 22.
Ghani said US President Donald Trump's new Afghan strategy sent a signal to Taliban guerrillas that they can not win on the field and must negotiate peace.
Trump had also asked India to play a greater role in war-torn Afghanistan, much to the dislike of Pakistan.
Far more important is the fact that Trump has denied Taliban the dignity of a legitimate political actor in Afghanistan, preferring to keep them in the terrorist bracket.
"Such a difference is a deliberate attempt by the government of Pakistan to divert global attention over Pakistan's longstanding failure to take effective action against various terrorist groups and sanctuaries on its territory", an Afghan diplomat representing the country said.
Commandant of the Marine Corps Gen. Robert B. Neller speaks with Marines with Task Force Southwest at Bost Airfield, Afghanistan, June 20, 2017.
The US President on his Twitter handle shared a video of his meeting with Ghani, saying, "It was a pleasure to have President Ashraf Ghani of Afghanistan with us this morning!" "It's really a hornet's nest from that standpoint". It also threatened to cut military funding for Pakistan.
Successive US governments have criticized Pakistan for links with the Taliban militants and for harboring slain al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. He said joint Afghan-U.S. forces have made headway against Taliban, "hitting them hard and hitting them effectively". Obviously, it is the U.S. and the Afghan government that are hindering the process and they will have to change their approach if they are honest in their proclamations about peace and stability.

Doom and Wolfenstein II Are Making Its Way to Switch
Hopefully this encourages other big third-party studios to take a closer look at the Switch and consider porting their games over. This is a very big win for Nintendo and the Switch , especially considering we're still in the first year of its life cycle.
