For customers who want more excitement and performance, Nissan will also offer a higher power, longer range version at a higher price in 2018.

Nissan Leaf is expected to go on sale on October 2 in Japan.

ProPilot can automatically control distance to the vehicle in front at a pre-set speed - even in stop start traffic - and will maintain the Leaf's position within a lane.

The worry for Nissan, however, is that "range anxiety" will dampen excitement over the new release.

Nissan Leaf is the upgraded version of the company's earlier produced best selling Car- 2017 Leaf. It is going to rival with Chevrolet Bolt EV and Tesla Model 3.

Weather Authority Forecast for Wednesday, August 30
The National Weather Service in Pueblo predicted highs of 85 degrees Wednesday , 82 degrees Thursday and 81 degrees Friday . Some clouds will move through in the morning then skies will become mostly sunny as winds remain almost calm.

The mass market for electric cars is yet to reach a turning point, with charging infrastructure, range and mileage continuing to weigh on the minds of consumers. Nissan had announced a while back that the new leaf will feature their autonomous driving technology, making it the first autonomous electric production vehicle.

The zero-emissions vehicle - which Japanese automaker Nissan Motor Co. unveiled in the USA late Tuesday and in a Tokyo suburb Wednesday - promises a travel range of about 400 kilometers in Japanese driving conditions or 150 miles in the US, before needing another charge.

Buyers will have three price tags to choose from, starting at 3.15 million yen ($29,000) to 3.99 million yen.

Nissan has said that the new leaf will have extended range of nearly 250kms as per the EPA certifications.

The new leaf does not have the "I'm saving the planet, I'm saving the planet" lozenge look but a more contemporary design much like a hatchback.

Princess Mako, Komuro announce engagement
Prince Hisahito is now third in line to the throne after his uncle, Crown Prince Naruhito, and his father Prince Akishino . The couple had a long-distance relationship while studying overseas - Mako in Britain and Komuro in the USA - for one year.

Nissan says that its new e-Pedal, which drives the auto forward when depressed and brakes when pressure is released, should increase driving efficiency and be all that a driver needs to operate the vehicle for around 90% of urban driving. The bulging curves of the old Nissan Leaf have been done away with to make way for sharp lines. Complementing this new drivetrain is the high-tech lithium-ion battery pack, which delivers increased power and energy storage capacity. Distances depend, though, on driving conditions and how much other items in the vehicle such as heating and air conditioning are used. Power is increased by 38 per cent compared with the outgoing model, to 110kW, while torque is up by 26 per cent to 320Nm.

The car's interior is adorned with a 7-inch full-colour TFT touchscreen display featuring the new Safety Shield tech.

The new launch is designed with intelligent driver assistance features, including ProPILOT semi autonomous driving and parking techniques.

Nissan said Japan has 28,000 charging stations and more are being added.
