At IFA 2017, Sony has brought a affordable smartphone for its users. Now, Sony is again with a newXA1 series device to fit into the middle of the above two devices.
The XZ1 Compact will be available in a range of colours with harmonised h.ear headphones available. One of the biggest yet the most prominent similarities between the XZ1 and XZ1 Compact is the implementation of a singular panel that covers both, the sides and rear of the device.
Design wise, the XZ1 is not a big departure from Sony smartphones of old, but more of an iterative refresh. "The Compact's selfie camera is a little different though; an 8MP Exmor RS sensor with a 1/4" sensor size and an extra-wide-angle lens with adjustable FOV from 80-degrees up to 120-degrees for those panoramic "grelfies". It essentially means that the camera can capture any object and save the file as a 3D image which you can further utilize in a 3D printer.
The display is also embedded in a "loop surface" design which Sony says offers a "perfect hand fit" due to its curved edges. The main differences between the Compact and its larger sibling are smaller base storage (32GB vs 64GB), a lower res screen (720p vs 1080p), and the lack of HDR video support.
Like the XZ1, the Compact model has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835processor which is still the flagship chip and there's also 4GB of RAM. While the former allows the phone to focus more reliably, the latter clicks a scene a second before you actually tap the shutter key eliminating any sort of frame drops or blur. It took months before the SonyXperia XZ Premium which was unveiled in February finally landed on the market, but a lot of customers lost interest in the device in the process.
Sony Bravia TV technology enhances the 5.2 inch display, while the speaker promises up to 50 percent more sound pressure than previous Xperia models and noise cancelling of up to 98 percent when used with compatible headphones.
Sony has also included a unique feature on the both the handsets called the Sony3D Creator. It comes in Moonlit Blue, Venus Pink, Warm Silver, and Black colors. On days when you're using extra energy, Smart Stamina works ahead of time to keep you powered up by estimating how long your current battery will last based on how you normally use your phone.
The Xperia XZ1 is premium in all things but one, its 5.2-inch TRILUMINOS LCD screen that only goes as high as 1920×1080 Full HD resolution.
Although Oreo is a new version number, it's nothing like an overhaul of the operating system.
